AN OPEN LETTER TO THE COMMUNITY: THANKS FOR MAKING THE SETAUKET ELECTRIC HOLIDAY PARADE THE MOST SUCCESSFUL EVER
The warm familial spirit that sustains and enhances our Three Village community never was in greater evidence than at Sunday's 14th annual holiday parade. This is hometown America someone said and how true as 56 local marching groups were applauded by an excess of 7,500 spectators, making this the largest and best attended holiday parade ever.
Our most sincere thanks to so many who made this event possible, especially Dr. Ralph Ferrie, our new Superintendent of Schools who rode in the lead car watching thousands of his elementary, junior high and high school students in the line of march. Our thanks also and in particular to dozens of local organizations, businesses and individuals who donated everything from cash to cookies, even generators, to make the parade work, especially the Setauket Fire Department, Three Village Kiwanis, Three Village Central School District, Times Beacon Record Newspapers, Town of Brookhaven, BOP Electric, Team Ardolino, Fratellis' Market Place, Printing Plus, B & F Contractors, Bryant Funeral Home, Stony Brook Rotary, Island Storage, Setauket Gourmet Delicatessen and Caterers, BJ's, Budget Print, Coca Cola, Colette Frey-Bitzas, CFP- Frey Wealth Management, Competition Auto and Truck Repair, DaVinci Learning Center, DJ Chad, Great Oak Marina, King Kullen, Landscapes Unlimited, Linda Toga, Esq., Little League of Three Village, Mr. Sign Setauket, Rolling Pin Bakery, Se-port Deli, Spotlight Dance Academy, Stony Brook Beverage, Stop and Shop, Three Village Teachers Association, and Wild By Nature.
The entire parade committee worked tirelessly to make sure this event was one enjoyed by all. Their attention to detail and focus on keeping the participants and spectators safe was instrumental in making this the best parade in our history! Thank you to a wonderful committee!
A special thanks to Stony Brook University for their involvement in this years parade. Their marching band, dance team, cheerleaders and of course Wolfie helped make the parade a rousing success.
